A section of Young Road was closed following a “serious” crash in Chilliwack Friday afternoon, Chilliwack RCMP said.
A dump truck went off the road and into a ditch around noon on Jan. 14 underneath the Highway 1 overpass.
“RCMP are at scene of serious traffic collision on Young Road under the Highway 1 overpass,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail stated in a release at 1:49 p.m.
An air ambulance was called in for a man who suffered a head injury in the collision.
Young Road between Airport Road and Luckakuck Way was closed as a result.
Motorists are asked to detour and use alternate routes.
