BC Hydro says 930 Chilliwack customers affected

Nearly 1,000 BC Hydro customers lost power Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Hope River Road.

The accident occurred just after 3:30 p.m., causing brief power surges in the city’s downtown.

The affected area was north of Latimer Road, east of Tower Road and west of Kitchen Road.

BC Hydro, police, ambulance and the Chilliwack Fire Department were on scene.
