The body of Neil Smith, a 63-year-old man and former Vancouver firefighter, was found near Chilliwack on Sunday afternoon.
An update on Missing People Canada reads;
“At approximately 3:30 this afternoon [Jan. 12] we were advised that Chilliwack SAR found Neil. A very sad day for the Smith family and all his friends.”
Smith had been last seen around 10 a.m. at his home in Murrayville on Jan. 10; his gray Ford F150 pickup truck which was later found in Chilliwack which promoted a search and rescue investigation.
RCMP said there was no foul play involved.
