Two armed robberies, possibly committed by the same man, were reported in Chilliwack on Sunday.
The first took place at about 2 p.m. just outside the Young Street Market on Young Road and Lewis Street.
The male suspect approached the victim and asked for money with what the victim believed was a firearm.
The second robbery took place at about 11:15 p.m. at an ATM machine in the Scotia Bank at 46059 Yale Road.
While the victim was withdrawing money from the machine, he was approached by a man demanding money.
This time the victim was assaulted, and the victim believed his attacker had a firearm.
RCMP Const. Tracy Wolbeck said reports that a firearm is involved in an incident are "a very big concern to us."
"Anytime an offence is committed with what a victim believes to be a firearm, it becomes a huge priority for us to identify and arrest the person involved," she said.
Police believe the same suspect could be responsible for both robberies.
The suspect is described as about 6'2" tall, between 35-50 years old, thin and weighing about 160 lbs.
In the robbery outside the market, the suspect was described as wearing a blue jacket with horizontal black stripes, while in the ATM robbery the suspect was described as wearing a blue and white or blue and yellow jacket.
