It’s a way of connecting with one of Chilliwack’s most well-loved waterways.
Watershed Watch and the Friends of Camp-Hope Slough are inviting Chilliwack residents to join them on a slough tour.
They will be exploring the Hope Slough by water on Saturday, May 27 starting at 10 a.m. It’s free for anyone who brings their own kayak or canoe, or $20 to rent one.
At the event will be local Sto:lo members, concerned residents, a biologist and local streamkeepers who’ll be testing the water.
The community event comes on the heels of community meetings and efforts by City of Chilliwack to study what it would take to restore the Hope/Camp Slough system to its former glory. The dream is restoration that would allow recreational use once again on a broader scale.
