After a serious collision on the Port Mann Bridge Tuesday afternoon (April 2), one person was reportedly taken to hospital.

The westbound crash, which occurred around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, happened when a taxi driver slammed into the rear of a Mainroad heavy tow truck, according to a freelance photographer at the scene.

Firefighters from Surrey and Coquitlam reportedly attended the collision, along with BC RCMP Highway Patrol officers and BC Emergency Health Services workers, who transported the driver of the taxi to a local area hospital.

The crash, in addition to a stall in the westbound lanes, contributed to major delays to start the afternoon commute.
