A suspect who picked the wrong car to steal from got himself arrested last Thursday and now faces two charges.
The suspect was picked up by members of the Chilliwack Property Crime section of the Community Policing office after twice breaking into a bait car.
Not content after his first try, the suspect allegedly came back for a second time, and that's when he was nabbed.
“Although we won't disclose how many bait vehicles we have, I will say that we have a large fleet spread throughout the entire Upper Fraser Valley,” said RCMP Cpl. Brock Rayworth. “The public would be quite surprised at just how many bait vehicles are out there. We want the thieves to think twice next time they are tempted to break into or steal a vehicle.”
Justin Mark Havey has been charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of a prohibited weapon.
