Chilliwack RCMP are warning people to be aware of their surroundings after a suspicious man grabbed a runner's shoulder Saturday on the Teapot Hill trail.
RCMP searched for the man where the two women were running, but there was no one fitting the description in the area.
The man grabbed the woman's shoulder from behind, according to the report, but she and her fellow runner were able to get away and call police.
"This is a really popular place for people to hike and run," said Const. Tracy Wolbeck.
Police are calling the incident "isolated" but are asking everyone to be "aware and alert" while hiking or running in the area.
The man was in his 20s, described as scruffy and wearing dark clothing.
"If you walk or run with music, ensure the music is not so loud that you are not able to hear what is happening around you.
"Also ensure someone knows where you are and when you are expected back."
