The flood-damaged section of roadway near Promontory and Thornton at Extrom Road will be closed for repairs weekdays starting this week.
A detour map released from City of Chilliwack shows potential alternate routes for motorists, indicated with red arrows.
“We have hired Coquitlam Ridge Constructors to reinforce and reconstruct the flood damaged section of Promontory Road and Thornton Road at Extrom Road beginning Wednesday, January 26,” according to the city notice.

The work will require the intersection be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, until March.
Single-lane alternating traffic control will be in place for overnight and weekends.
“Please plan alternate routes during the construction period.”
