Incident happened at Eagle Landing Shopping Centre near Walmart in Chilliwack

RCMP were on scene at a parking lot in Chilliwack Thursday for a report of a body found in a car.

Police were seen around noon on Feb. 10 surrounding a vehicle in the parking lot of Eagle Landing Shopping Centre near Walmart. Blankets were covering the windows of the car.

According to an employee who works at Walmart, the vehicle had been there for a while and noticed the person inside was alive yesterday.

BC Ambulance Service and Chilliwack Fire Department were also called to the scene. Firefighters were dispatched around 11:30 a.m. but were called off shortly after arriving.

RCMP would not comment on the investigation, but at 12:45 p.m. confirmed BC Coroners Service was en route to the scene and that the next of kin had not yet been notified.
