A transmission circuit failure has left tens of thousands in the Fraser Valley east region without power on Wednesday afternoon.
According to BC Hydro, at approximately 1:34 p.m. on Wednesday a transmission circuit failure occurred leaving parts of Abbotsford and much of Chilliwack powerless.

Other affected areas include: Hope, Agassiz, Delta, Langley, Mission, Surrey, Richmond, Kent and Harrison Hot Springs.

BC Hydro has said that crews are working on restoring power to those affected, and are estimating electricity to return around 4 p.m.
Power was restored to over 50,000 Fraser Valley east customers before 4 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.
