Changes are coming to Cultus Lake Park board administration after the CAO was terminated recently by officials.

The senior administrator at the Cultus Lake Park Board was recently let go after six years of service.

Consequently Cultus Lake Park residents are being asked to keep inquiries to a minimum in the next while.

Chief Administrative Officer Ron Campbell was officially "relieved of his duties" at the Park Board, according to a statement released by Park Board Chair David Renwick earlier this month.

“On March 19, 2015, pursuant to a unanimous resolution of the Board, we terminated the service contract of Ron Campbell.

"The Board felt that it was necessary to take this step, at this time, so that we could continue in our new direction of open and candid government."

Some of the challenges the Park Board has faced stemmed from actions taken by the past Board, its management team and style, said the chair.

"We asked FVRD to audit our operation," said Renwick.

The FVRD CAO and staff were in contact with Park Board staff, reviewed procedures and provided insight and suggestions.

Those suggestions were set to be discussed at the April 15 planning session.

"Not replacing the CAO at this time has put an additional pressure on our remaining staff, so we ask the public to please give us some breathing room to allow us to properly assess our needs going forward.”
