What's in store for Fairfield Park?

That's one of the questions that may be percolating in the neighbourhood about the mid-sized public park with access from Clare Avenue on Fairfield Island.

A Fairfield Park Master Plan meeting is slated for Saturday at 10 a.m. in the park, near the concession building.

City of Chilliwack reps will be recording ideas and feedback obtained from area residents and users of the 11.4 hectare park about what they'd like to see in a Master Plan.

They'll be looking at use of the ball diamonds and soccer pitches, for baseball as well as soccer, football, and field hockey use, as well as playground upgrading, fitness gear, and more.

Based in part on what they hear from residents, they'll be mapping out space for on-site parking, and off-site parking, washrooms, lighting and expanding the 2km trail and more.

Master Plan Meeting is Saturday, June 4, at 10 a.m. at Fairfield Park near the concession building. For more info 604-793-2810.
