Politicians from both major political parties in B.C. literally stood together in support of school policies that have garnered loud opposition in the Fraser Valley in recent months.
NDP MLA Spencer Chandra Herbert tweeted a picture of himself standing with his party’s NDP Education Minister Rob Fleming and BC Liberal Mike Bernier, who headed the ministry when it mandated that all school district in the province implement sexual orientation and gender identity (SOGI) educational materials and anti-bullying policies.
The politicians are joined by representatives from Parents for Inclusivity, ARC Foundation and PFLAG.

The SOGI materials have come under fire in recent months from social conservative activists who claim it amounts to brainwashing children.
Fleming recently called for the resignation of Chilliwack school trustee Barry Neufeld, who has harshly criticized SOGI materials.
