Organizers of the Hope Slough Cleanup had to reschedule their event to Oct. 29.

"This event has been postponed due to dangerous weather," said Roxanna Froese, co-founder of the #SOS Save Our Slough group in Chilliwack, before the recent storms touched down.

The cleanup is being organized by Save our Slough and Watershed Watch Salmon Society, part of their Connected Waters campaign.

"Please join us October 29 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. for our slough cleanup!" Froese posted recently. "We will have groups out on the water as well as along the road."

Volunteers will meet at Kinsman Hall for a couple of hours, and then spread out cleaning up garbage around the historic waterway.

"We'd love to have you, even if you can't stay the whole time."

Tools will be provided. Bring a canoe or kayak if possible.
