Some roads in Abbotsford that were recently bare after the first round of flooding over two weeks ago are now seeing water again.
The Abbotsford Police Department posted footage to its Facebook page on Tuesday (Nov. 30) including water pooling on Vye Road east of Angus Campbell Road at 8:40 a.m.
“Water continues to flow into the Sumas flats. We continue to plead with Mother Nature but rainfall is still forecasted. Please continue to be prepared and to use extra precaution driving,” the post said.
A second video shows floodwaters moving across North Parallel Road between Whatcom Road and Old Yale Road, near Castle Fun Park.

That post also asks drivers to avoid the area of DeLair Park, which is again filling with water.
Drivers are advised to visit the city website to view the list of roads that are currently closed.
“Flooding is in progress so keep in mind that roads may be closed and not posted yet,” the Facebook post indicates.
Abbotsford Police Chief Mike Serr indicated in a tweet Tuesday afternoon that he and Mayor Henry Braun had toured the city in the morning to assess conditions.
“Some isolated flooded roads and Sumas Prairie remains the same, but overall things are stable and holding,” Serr stated. “Crews continue to clean ouut drainage areas to keep H2O flowing. We continue to monitor – but optimistic.”
The region is currently experiencing its third atmospheric river since last Thursday (Nov. 25). The Nooksack River in Washington State overtopped its banks on Sunday, and some of those floodwaters began flowing towards Abbotsford on Monday (Nov. 29), including in Huntingdon Village, which is still under an evacuation order.
But Braun said at the city’s daily press conference on Monday that he believes the city will be able to withstand the current heavy rainfall.
Braun posted to social media on Tuesday morning, indicating the floodgates at the Barrowtown Pump Station are fully open, allowing water from the Sumas River to continue to flow into the Fraser River.
