Emergency crews were called to a possible drowning at Cultus Lake Friday.

The call came in sometime after 1 p.m. on Friday, June 4. Cultus Lake Fire Department, BC Ambulance Service and RCMP were tending to a person who was reportedly out of the water and on a dock at Main Beach before 1:30 p.m.

Around 1:45 p.m. the patient was in the care of paramedics.

An air ambulance was dispatched and crews were setting up a landing zone in the field at Cultus Lake elementary school, but it was later cancelled.

This comes less than one week after another water emergency on Saturday, May 29 where a 33-year-old man drowned after he fell into the Chilliwack River while rafting with a group of people.
