Chilliwack prolific offender found with meth, fentanyl cocaine

Jeff Aubie has criminal record going back 20 years for property crime, drugs, guns

A prohibited driver well-known to the Chilliwack RCMP was busted with drugs in a vehicle near downtown Chilliwack recently.

Jeffrey (or Jeff) Brian Aubie has an extensive criminal record dating back 20 years relating to property crime, forgery, guns and drugs.

Police say a suspicious vehicle seen travelling on Riverside Drive in the early hours of Oct. 12 was spotted by an officer with the RCMP’s crime reduction unit.

Officers later found the vehicle parked at a pull-out at Hamilton Street and Lewis Avenue and took a man into custody in the 45000-block of Lewis Avenue.

Drugs believed to be methamphetamine, fentanyl and, cocaine, were seized by RCMP from the suspect during the arrest, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.

Aubie, 41, of Chilliwack, is charged with three counts of possessing a controlled drug/substance for the purpose of trafficking. He was released on bail, appeared in court on Oct. 13, 15 and 23, and his next court date is set for Nov. 13.

Aubie’s record goes back to 1998 when he was arrested for possession of stolen property, personation with intent to gain advantage and four counts of causing a person to use a forged document. He was convicted on two counts and sentenced to 60 days.

Since then he has been a frequent and consistent visitor to cells and the courthouse.

In addition to the above charges he faced in Chilliwack court on Oct. 23, he was also in court that day charged alongside 25-year-old Chelsey Rae Loranger. Both Aubie and Loranger face nine counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and two firearms offences connected to an arrest on July 26, 2017.

Loranger has a number of drug charges dating back to 2012.

Aubie also faced five firearms charges from May 2016, was convicted of driving while prohibited and possession of a controlled substance and sentenced to time served in pre-trial custody.
