‘Donald Duck’ imitator worries daycare operator

An older man offering to do his “Donald Duck voice” for kids has raised the suspicion of a Chilliwack daycare operator.

“He might have been harmless,” Natasha Lundgren said, but she wanted to alert other daycare operators about the strange incident.

She said the “older gentleman” looking a bit like the bearded captain in a well-known fish sticks commercial showed up at her home daycare on Reece Avenue at about 4:45 p.m. Tuesday.

“He said he wanted to do his Donald Duck voice for the kids,” she said, but he promptly left the daycare when two adults arrived.

She said another daycare operator in the area reported the same strange behaviour.

Chilliwack RCMP Cpl. Lea-Anne Dunlop said police are investigating.

Lundgren said the “older gentleman,” who had “a little bit of a beard” like the captain in a fish sticks commercial, drove away in a U-haul-type van with no markings.

She also suggested parents with children keep their doors locked as a precaution.
