Two people were taken to hospital after their light plane crash-landed in a field just off Young Road on Fairfield Island, Thursday.
Their injuries were reportedly minor.
The plane went down at around 1:30 p.m. Witnesses said the plane appeared to have lost power and glided to the ground.
"I was on my back porch, and I could see a plane coming down that didn't seem to have any power," said Ken Ingham, who lives on nearby Camrose Avenue. "It was really quiet, and all I heard was the wind going by. I kept expecting the engines to kick in, and I lost sight of it as it went behind the trees. My neighbor started up a power saw, so I never heard the impact. All I heard next was sirens. Lots of sirens."
The plane came to rest in a field about a 100 metres from nearby homes.
Firefighters and emergency responders were on the scene within minutes.
Transport Canada is now investigating.
