A CC-115 Buffalo arrived in Abbotsford on Wednesday as part of the 50th anniversary Abbotsford International Airshow, and members of the media – including the Abbotsford News' freelance videographer Kevin MacDonald – were invited for a demo ride.
The Buffalo is a search and rescue aircraft that can fly in almost any weather and land in rugged terrain and in areas as short as a soccer field. It is used by the Royal Canadian Air Force primarily in the Rocky and Coastal Mountain ranges.
The aircraft will be among the static displays at the airshow, which runs from Friday to Sunday at Abbotsford International Airport. Gates open at 8 a.m. Visit abbotsfordairshow.com for the full schedule and other details.
