Chilliwack residents looking to cast ballots in today’s municipal election must present proof of identity and residency.
Two pieces of identification are required and at least one must have a signature. In combination, the identification must prove both residency and identity.
Here are some examples of acceptable identification:
For identity:
• B.C. I.D. Card
• B.C. driver’s licence
• Social Insurance card
• Credit card / debit card
• Old age pension I.D. card
• Passport / citizenship card
• B.C. Care Card / B.C. Gold Care Card
• Continued Assistance Form SDES8 (Now EA181)
• Owner’s certificate of insurance and vehicle registration
For residency:
• B.C I.D. Card
• B.C. driver’s licence
• Utility bill or other similar credit card statement
• Real property tax notice or B.C. assessment notice
• Owner’s certificate of insurance and vehicle registration
