The shiny new building on the Chilliwack Volkswagen lot is officially ready, and General Manager Mac Kamienik says the upgrades are all about improving the experience for customers.
“Our customers have supported us through the last two buildings and the last 62 years, so everything about this new building is as customer-centric as possible,” he says. “This is a building we can all be proud of, it’s the newest and nicest Volkswagen dealership in Canada. It will also be showcasing Volkswagen’s new all-electric crossover ID.4 as we are one of the select dealers in Canada to sell this vehicle.”
It’s the little things customers will love:
- Drive-through vehicle drop-offs: When the rain falls in Chilliwack, Volkswagen customers won’t have to get wet. You can now drive right in the big garage doors when dropping your car off for service.
- Spacious customer lounge: “We basically had a chair and a couch in our old dealership, so customers will definitely appreciate having a better place to sit and relax!” Kamienik says.
- 2 extra service hoists: A state-of-the-art maintenance area with two extra service hoists will make it easier to schedule appointments and keep up with regular maintenance.
- Larger parking lot: No more squeezing in and out of your car, the new parking lot will have larger stalls for customer convenience.
- 2 state-of-the-art detail wash bays: “For years we’ve been washing and detailing vehicles outside. Now, even when the weather’s not great we’ll still be able to wash and detail customer vehicles to perfection.”
“As far as customer experience goes, it’s going to be night and day,” Kamienik says. “VW has been a staple in the community for more than 60 years, and when VW came to us with the idea of building this new dealership we were excited to jump on board. The city of Chilliwack is growing, and we’re happy to grow with it.”
Blending the old with the new
The new dealership is triple the size, two storeys tall and includes a spacious six vehicle showroom.
“A lot of the technology in the showroom is coming to VW Canada for the first time. Our showroom includes a halo — only the second one in the world — to put a spotlight on the new all-electric vehicle,” Kamienik says.
But not everything about the new building will be new — the original ‘VW’ letters will find an honoured spot in the fancy new space, alongside newspaper articles and other memorabilia from the dealership’s long history in Chilliwack.
“We’re trying to blend the old with the new. We felt it was important to bring that history with us.”
