Chilliwack Cougars trounce Trail Orioles to continue early season success

With the series win, the Cougars improve to a record of 8-4 to sit second in the division standings

The Chilliwack Cougars baseball team has started its season with a bang.

The boys U18 College Prep team went to the West Kootenays last weekend where they took on the Trail Orioles in back-to-back double header games.

The Cougars took three of their four games against the Orioles in dominant fashion, outscoring their opponents 23-7 across all four contests.

The weekend was highlighted by Chilliwack’s Eli Robinson and Reid O’Brien combining for a no-hitter in the second game.

The three-win weekend improves the Cougars to a record of 8-4 early in the season, sitting second in the division just one and a half games back of the Ridge Meadows Royals.

The Cougars now see a break in action before hitting the field to continue regular season play on May 22 with the first place Royals paying the Cougars a visit.

The Cougars College Prep team is the highest level of play that Chilliwack Minor Baseball provides with the 18U age group also having A and AA tiers of play. The 15U and 13U age groups also consist of three tiers ranging from A to AAA with 11U and younger boasting just a single tier.
