The Chilliwack location of London Drugs is closed, along with all London Drugs stores in Western Canada as of Sunday (April 28) after what is believed was a cybersecurity attack.

Some Chilliwack employees of London Drugs found out on social media that the stores would be closing.

Karla Johnson posted on Sunday that as an employee she had not yet heard until she verified the information.

“Just talked to the store manager in Chilliwack,” she posted. “It is correct news. We appreciate all our customers and are doing everything we can to get stores up and running as soon as possible. I’ve never heard of this happening before and I’ve been with them for 27 years. Thanks for your patience.”

Store officials announced through a post on Facebook that all stores would close due to “an operational issue,” but they expected to resume operations shortly. The closures were out an abundance of caution.

Pharmacy services are being maintained with pharmacists standing by for urgent customer needs, and they can make arrangements by calling the pharmacies.

There are about 80 London Drugs across B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
