There will be three Remembrance Day ceremonies in Chilliwack on Nov. 11.

People will be gathering at Veterans’ Memorial Park in downtown Chilliwack, All Sappers’ Memorial Park in Vedder Crossing, and Coqualeetza Longhouse on Vedder Road to honour those who fought and died for our country.

At the downtown location, an indoor service starts at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Hall (9291 Corbould St.), and the parade procession will leave the hall at 10:30 a.m. and march to the cenotaph where the ceremony will immediately follow at Veterans’ Memorial Park (45820 Spadina Ave.).

In Sardis, the procession begins at the Royal Canadian Legion Chilliwack-Vedder Branch 295 (5661 Vedder Rd.) at 10:30 a.m. and will march to All Sappers’ Memorial Park for the ceremony.

The Stólō Veterans’ Remembrance Day ceremony will also be taking place on Nov. 11. Doors open at 9 a.m. in the Coqualeetza Longhouse (7201 Vedder Rd.) and the ceremony is slated to start at 10 a.m. The procession to the memorial site will be at 10:50 a.m., followed by roll call at 11 a.m., a moment of silence at 11:11 a.m., and then the laying of the wreaths. Lunch will follow in the longhouse.

Umbrellas will likely be needed as rain is in the forecast for Nov. 11 with a high of 8 degrees Celsius and a low of 6, according to Environment Canada.
