A shed in Chilliwack caught fire at 11 a.m. Saturday morning (Feb. 17), and investigators are still determining the cause.

There were no occupants at the home in the 9000 block of Broadway Street, a press release from the Chilliwack Fire Department stated.

Nine firefighters responded from Halls 1 and 4. They arrived to find smoke and flames coming through the roof of a small detached shed on a residential property..

The department said the “crews quickly began a defensive fire attack while securing a water supply to bring the fire under control.

“Firefighters effectively extinguished the fire, containing fire and smoke damage to the building of origin. The shed suffered significant fire and smoke damage.”

Chilliwack Fire Department is investigating the fire to determine cause. There were no firefighter or civilian injuries.
