People can relive music from the ’60s and ’70s when a Chilliwack band takes the stage in May.
The Maybelles present Spring Fling at G.W. Graham Middle Secondary School on Friday, May 24.
The group is made up of Brittany Sovereign, Alexis Beer, Katrina Barson and Amber Bergeron, and they’ll be singing classic hits all in four-part harmony.
They’re calling it a “soulful night of music” as they celebrate the greatest hits from the ’60s and ‘70.
“There will be no recorded music, it will all be played by live band,” Sovereign said, adding that the band includes Colin Farquhar, Mitch Foster, Stu Coleman and Shannon Budau.
Spring Fling will also feature special guests from G.W. Graham’s theatre and music programs, giving the young high school arts students experience in stage management, production and playing in front of a live audience.
About four or five students from the theatre department will be running the sound and lights for the event, while three or four horn players from the band department will join The Maybelles band.
Spring Fling with The Maybelles is at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 24 at G.W. Graham Middle Secondary School. Tickets are $12 for students and $18 for adults.
