The laughs from a Chilliwack comedy club are moving to a new downtown venue in October.
Fraser Valley Comedy will be hosting its next event with headliner John Buehler at Whiskey Richard’s on Saturday, Oct. 7. The night will feature Shane Clark and is hosted by club founder Yo Trieu.
John Beuhler has been described as wickedly funny, fearless and poignant. He is at ease in front of many different types of audiences, and he is fast becoming one of North America’s favourite comedians.
Born and raised in Vancouver, Beuhler found his calling early. In 1997, at the age of 19, he performed stand-up for the first time. The show went better then anyone could have expected, and he was hooked.
He starred in a national comedy special, won the Just for Laughs Home Grown Comedy Competition, finished in the finals of the Seattle International Comedy Competition, and shot two more Canadian stand-up specials for Canadian national television, all before the age of 25.
Beuhler then went on to win the Corner Gas Comedy contest, earning him $10,000 and an appearance on Corner Gas with his mentor Brent Butt. He has opened for the likes of Dennis Miller, Brent Butt, Joan Rivers, Martin Short, Zach Galifianakis, and Craig Ferguson to name a few.
Shane Clark is a promising up-and-comer in the Canadian comedy scene. Being born and raised in a small town in northern B.C. has given him a unique perspective on life and a general likeability that reflects in his comedy.
His sharp wit and sharper tongue have been keeping audiences laughing for years. He has recently performed at The San Diego Comedy Festival, The Arch City Comedy Festival, The Sacramento Comedy Festival and the Hong Kong International Comedy Festival.
There will also be special performances by Amy Walsh and Cari Moore.
Fraser Valley Comedy presents John Buehler, with Shane Clark at Whiskey Richard’s on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. Whiskey Richard’s is located inside the Royal Hotel at 45886 Wellington Ave. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $26 and are only available at the door. Festival style seating.
