There couldn’t be a better way to start the morning than with a delightful classical piano concert, and the Bergmann Duo is going to make that possible. Back for their first show of the season, Marcel and Elizabeth Bergmann are taking to the stage at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre on Oct. 5, this time joined by one of the most celebrated trumpet soloists in his instruments history, Jens Lindemann, and you’re invited to join them in this energetic morning recital.
Having played in every major concert venue in the world, Lindemann has had a vibrant career that has taken him from the Philharmonics of New York, to the Great Wall of China and even to a solo Command Performance for the Queen of England.
He has won major awards ranging from Grammy and Juno nominations to winning the prestigious Echo Klassik and to becoming the recipient of the Order of Canada.
“The trumpet is capable of being played with the virtuosity of a violin, the tenderness of the human voice and the stylistic flexibility of the piano. It allows me an endless range of communication with audiences,” said Lindemann of his own playing.
Featuring works by Strauss, Bach, Weill, Gershwin, Brubeck and more, the morning concert will not only showcase Lindemann’s virtuosic flair, but also highlight the Bergmann duo’s incredible talent in performing with others.
The cabaret style morning concerts offer a very close and personal experience, with complimentary coffee, tea, and refreshments.
“It’s great that the series is established and we are able to get to know people in each of the communities,” Elizabeth Bergmann, of the Bermann Duo, added.
“There’s an increasing desire for the audience to get to know the artist as well so we like to throw in a personal story into the mix.”
