The Bombadils are coming to Chilliwack March 1 to play Bozzini's.

The band is a Montreal-based Celtic and bluegrass group that includes former Chilliwack resident Anh Phung.

She says they've embarked on a 2014 West Coast Tour that includes a stop in Chilliwack.

The Bombadils are a band of four, a self-described "charismatic and kind-hearted bunch of rascals" who write and perform tunes that blend musical conviction, with Québecois, Irish, and bluegrass folk

styles. It's a decidedly contemporary sound, that combines soaring melodic

lines, tight rhythmic energy, and virtuosity.

Formed in 2009 at McGill University, the band has performed regularly since then around Montreal in pubs and cafés while completing studies in jazz and classical music. Since graduation, The band members have released their debut CD "Fill Your Boots!" and continue to tour North America.

They're gigging through Alberta, British Columbia, Washington, Oregon, and California, wrapping up with three shows in the Lower Mainland.
