Are you ready to read, Chilliwack?

The City-Wide Literary Challenge, hosted by Chilliwack Learning Society, runs April 1 to 21 and everyone is encouraged to read for as many days as they can to be entered to win prizes.

It’s not just books that qualify for the reading challenge. Folks can read graphic novels, newspapers and more, and listen to audiobooks and podcasts. People can join at any time throughout the three-week event.

Using the reading challenge tracking sheet, folks of all ages can mark down which days they’ve read. The tracking sheet can be downloaded and printed at chilliwacklearning.com/services/everyone/city-wide-literacy-challenge/.

Those who don’t have a printer can fill out the form online at bit.ly/CLSreadingchallenge. People can also pick up a ballot from the Chilliwack, Sardis or Yarrow libraries.

Participants can submit their complete form by April 28 in-person to The Book Man or any of the three Chilliwack libraries. Additionally, people can email a photo of their completed form to info@chilliwacklearning.com.

Those who need some new reading material for this challenge (either for themselves or for a child) can contact info@chilliwacklearning.com or 604-392-2404 and they will provide people with a variety of free gently used books.

The Chilliwack Learning Society is looking for more donations of prizes to hand out at the end of the challenge. Contact info@chilliwacklearning.com or 604-392-2404 to make a donation.
