People living at a Chilliwack retirement residence got a treat on Monday as the sounds of bagpipes filled the air outside their windows.
Dozens of residents of Elim Village stood on balconies and patios, many were out in the courtyard, as Joe McDonald of Burnaby played his pipes while walking around the three buildings of the retirement residence complex.
“What better place to have a bagpiper than in Garrison Crossing,” said Elim Village marketing manager David Herman.
Many residents had Canadian flags hanging from their balconies, and after McDonald’s performance and hearty round of applause, he played Amazing Grace and then the group of seniors sang O Canada.
