An event this weekend is meant to help kids shine no matter their diversity.

The second annual Helping Kids Shine Run, Walk ‘n’ Roll is on June 25 from 9 a.m. to noon at Sardis secondary.

The event is hosted by Fraser Valley Child Development Centre (FVCDC) and all proceeds go to helping children with developmental needs and or disabilities.

The event includes a 1 km accessible walk or 5 km fun run. Post race celebrations include face painting, jumping castles, mini golf, complimentary lunch and an Ian Johnstone children’s music concert.

FVCDES is a not-for-profit organization that serves over 750 children in Chilliwack with developmental needs and or disabilities, and in total over 2,200 children per year, aged 0-18, throughout the Fraser Valley.
