When seven-year-old Magdelyn Epp learned about the terrible toll Alzheimer’s can take on someone, she wanted to help.
Magdelyn had asked her mom, Heidi about the disease after seeing a story in the Chilliwack Progress about the upcoming “Make Memories Matter” walk, and walk honoree Ray Klapprat.
She said she wanted to do something to help the man “who has a disease that takes his memories.”
After creating her own flyers and alerting her Promontory neighbours, she opened her lemonade stand to donations, raising over $200 in just one day.
The Investors Group Walk for Alzheimer’s, meanwhile, is set for Sunday, May 1 at the Landing Sports Centre, 45530 Spadina Ave. Registration is at 1 p.m., with the walk taking place from 2-4 p.m.
