The Cops for Cancer Tour de Valley, an annual fundraising event for pediatric cancer research, has openings for guest riders wishing to join in on the 800-kilometre trek that runs from Sept. 24 to Oct. 2.
With a minimum $2,500 fundraising commitment, riders can secure a place in the peloton for a day. There are a limited number of spots.
Opening ceremonies will take place on the morning of Sept. 24 at Abbotsford Senior Secondary.
The tour travels across the Fraser Valley from Delta to Boston Bar with a number of stops at business supporters and schools in between.
The capital raised goes to research efforts and to Camp Goodtimes, a program which offers local families affected by childhood cancer a cost-free week of camp. In 2014, Camp Goodtimes had 367 camp participants which included 134 kids from the Fraser Valley.
From meeting kids on the cancer journey to visiting with families impacted by cancer, the tour provides an eye-opening experience regarding the impact cancer has on people’s lives.
