Join the drumming and dancing at the Spirit of the People Family Day Powwow this weekend taking place at its new venue, Chilliwack secondary school.
The two-day event features host drum Travelling Spirit, with several special dances including Family Team Dance, Owl Dance contest and Switch Dance.
There will also be authentic arts and crafts and a First Nations concession stand.
It is hosted by Spirit of the People Cultural Society in partnership with School District #33 Aboriginal Education Department and takes place Saturday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, Feb. 17. Grand entry times are 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. both days.
Everyone is welcome to attend, and people are asked to bring their own chairs. This is a drug- and alcohol-free event.
