It’s the most puzzling fundraiser in town and you can guarantee there will be a long lineup of keeners Friday morning wanting to get in on it.
The Friends of the Chilliwack Libraries Society’s Puzzle Sale takes place tomorrow (Friday, Jan. 31) and Saturday at the Sardis Library.
Members have been collecting puzzles throughout the month of January in preparation for the annual fundraiser. They guesstimate about 4,000 puzzles have been donated this year.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the event. Twenty years ago, the Friends of the Chilliwack Libraries Society raised more than $500 from its inaugural puzzle sale fundraiser, and since then it has exploded. In 2019, a whopping $8,223.90 was raised.
Puzzle Sale prices for 2020 are: standard kids puzzles $1 to $3; kids 3D, storybook and floor puzzles $3 to $8; regular adult puzzles $2 to $4; high-quality puzzles will be $4 to $6; regular 3D puzzles $4 to $10; and new puzzles will be $1 or $2 dollars more than the above prices.
The 2020 Puzzle Sale runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Sardis Library.
All of the money raised from the sale will go towards programs and items for our three libraries – Chilliwack, Sardis and Yarrow. In the past, the friends have purchased books, LEGO, artwork, furniture for children’s areas of the libraries, and more. The Friends of the Chilliwack Libraries Society is a volunteer organization that supports the library through advocacy, fundraising and assistance with various projects and programs.
