An organization that gives away clothing and household items at no charge will be back in Chilliwack doling out goods next weekend.

After cancelling some of its events at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Clothes2U started holding smaller giveaways and by-appointment events throughout the Fraser Valley back in May.

Now they will be returning to Chilliwack on Oct. 3 at Cooke’s Presbyterian Church for the first time in nine months.

“We were at this location in January and it was a fabulous event. We are excited about doing the big events again and very mindful of doing so in a safe way,” said founder Ernie Jantzen.

The registered non-profit society provides clothing, toys, linens, diapers, books, footwear, personal items, and small household goods free to less fortunate children and adults.

Protocols will be in place as a result of the pandemic. Only 15 people at a time will be allowed in per 30-minute time slot, masks must be worn and people are to use hand sanitizer while there.

Folks wanting to take part in the event need to book an appointment slot by emailing

The Saturday, Oct. 3 giveaway goes from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. It takes place at Cooke’s Presbyterian Church at 45825 Wellington Ave. in Chilliwack. Admission is $2.
