Walkers and runners of all abilities are gathering up pledges and rallying teammates for the annual Chilliwack Hike for Hospice.
This year’s event takes place on Sunday, May 5, in conjunctions with hikes taking place all across Canada.
Here in Chilliwack, members of our community will gather at Townsend Park to build awareness and raise funds in support of the Chilliwack Hospice Society. Hike for Hospice Chilliwack is a public family event. Runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate, and friendly dogs on leashes are welcome, too.
There is a 2 km route and a 5 km route available.
All funds raised will remain in Chilliwack, to support the Chilliwack Hospice Society, so that they may continue their critical work of providing compassionate care to individuals and families during the dying and grieving process.
The Hospice programs include palliative support services including hospital and home visits, respite support for family members and caregivers, vigil services, relaxation therapies, a community memorial event, volunteering training, grief and bereavement support, children’s and teen grief support, a horse whisperer camp, community outreach and education, in-school support for children and youth, and community collaboration.

There is no cost or fee to use any of our hospice palliative and bereavement services and we accept referrals by anyone.
