A local Facebook-born group that has gathered together in the past to lift up a local cause, and this week they will do it once again.

Chilliwack Citizens for Change has planned their first annual Take Action Tailgate Party, and the community is invited to buy a ticket and join in the fun.

The event takes place at the Flashback Brewing Company downtown Chilliwack (9360 Mill Street), this Thursday, June 27 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

There will be a barbecue (with vegan options available), along with ‘swag bags’, a silent auction, draws and a DJ. All of the proceeds of the event will go toward the Chilliwack Youth Health Centre, which operates at the Neighbourhood Learning Centre, providing health and mental wellness care to young people in the community.

They are hoping to sell some more tickets to make the event a success and really support the CYHC. Tickets are $22 and available on their Eventbrite page.

Prizes have been donated from several small and large businesses and organizations around Chilliwack, including Arbonne consultants, The Bookman, Luna Float, Norwex, Town Hall and many more.

For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the Take Action Tailgate Party Facebook page.
