Charities benefit, public can win cash from Knights of Columbus online raffle

Raffle, with grand prize of $100,000 for winning ticket, helps several B.C. charities

An annual raffle which raises funds for local charities and gives people the chance to win thousands of dollars in cash has moved online this year.

The 59th annual Knights of Columbus (B.C.) Charity Foundation Charity Appeal raffle runs now until Jan. 30, 2021.

Here in Chilliwack, folks can by tickets from the local council: St. Mary’s, Chilliwack/Chilliwack Council 3478.

Raffle tickets are $3 each and can be purchased at kofcdraw.net/C3478. A total of 200,000 tickets are for sale.

There’s a total of $177,000 in cash prizes to be won. First prize is $100,000, second is $50,000, third is $10,000, fourth is $5,000, fifth is $2,000, and prizes six to 15 are $1,000 each.

Some of the B.C. charities that benefit, and projects funded by Knights of Columbus as a result of the raffle, include: Food for Families, Global Wheelchair Mission, Coats for Kids, Special Olympics, ultrasound machine purchases, student bursaries, seminarians, BC Children’s Hospital, Royal Columbia Hospital and St. Paul’s Hospital.

The draw takes place on Jan. 30, 2021 at 8 p.m.
