A local non-profit focused on fostering violence-free communities was named Community Partner of the Year by United Way Fraser Valley.
“Ann Davis Transition Society is absolutely thrilled to be the chosen recipient for this prestigious Spirit Award,” said Kathy Clement, ADTS president.
“Support from United Way Fraser Valley helps us to provide much-needed services in our community.”
Clement attended the recent awards banquet with ADTS executive director Patti MacAhonic to accept the honour.
“This award relates directly to the contributions made to United Way of the Fraser Valley by the staff and board of our organization and clearly shows the deep commitment of the Ann Davis Team to making a difference to the most vulnerable in our community.
“We are humbled and grateful to be publicly acknowledged for our contributions,” said MacAhonic after receiving the award.
Ann Davis Transition Society, is a long-time community service provider, an iconic organization that not only serves women and children fleeing violence by providing safe housing, but also is a leading-edge source of counselling for individuals, children, youth, couples and families.
“Strong and empowered individuals and families equate to a stronger and healthier community,” added MacAhonic.
