The Chilliwack Chiefs quietly shipped out Sean McCloskey Monday morning, dealing the seldom-used defenceman to the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

The Alberta Junior Hockey League team sent future considerations to the Chiefs, which usually denotes money.

McCloskey, 18, collected three assists in 41 regular season and playoff games with Chilliwack.

“We’d like to thank Sean for being a part of the Chiefs family,” said Chiefs hockey boss Brian Maloney. “We wish him all the best as he continues to work on all aspects of his game.”
