Eric Welsh

I joined the Chilliwack Progress in 2007. Originally hired as a sports reporter, I’ve branched out in recent years to cover everything from school board to politics, cops, and courts to human-interest features.

I have won several awards during my time at the Progress, including a Canadian Community Newspaper Association feature writing award and four Ma Murray golds from the B.C. Community Newspaper Association. I live in Chilliwack with my wife, two children and two dogs. When I’m not covering the news, I coach youth soccer and prowl around thrift stores looking for vintage toys.
