Black Press is currently holding a contest, and giving away ticket packs to 10 minor hockey teams in British Columbia – tickets to the 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic at Vancouver's BC Place. The game is March 2, and the Vancouver Canucks will host the Ottawa Senators, with each squad retro-fitted in vintage attire.

To enter, you must submit a story about a hockey player who inspires you or your team, or you can submit for someone you know.

The one below, we thought, was particularly noteworthy, and we thought we'd share it with you.

This was written by a woman named Danielle, on behalf of Abbotsford Hockey 3 minor team, the Jets:

My name is Danielle hay and I would like To nominate abbotsford h3 jets for the heritage classic in vancouver.

I believe this team should be considered for this awesome experience for the simple fact that they are little people with big dreams. Every child on this team has big dreams but there is one child that will never have the chance of achieving it. This players name is Preston hay and 2 years ago in hockey 1 was diagnosed with an agressive and progressive type of muscular dystrophy. Do you think that would stop this small boy of 7, absolutely not! His team has since rallied around him and he has proven he isn't going to give up the game he loves without a fight! In a situation where a team could have become exclusive they chose to be inclusive and have really supported preston and his passion for the game while working around his diablility. Preston and his teammates would be thankful to experience this opportunity and also show others that when you believe you can do anything.

The Jets' coaches are Jeff Grabinsky, Jay Thompson, Aaron Brown, Dan Bos and Peter Hay.

The contest is open until this Friday, February 21.

Each of the 10 winning teams will receive 25 tickets for the game at BC Place.

*Winners are selected randomly. There are currently 118 submissions.
