Vandenbrink’s three vanquishes Abby

Grace Vandenbrink's hat-trick helped her U-11 United girls soccer squad to a weekend win over the Abbotsford Storm.

Chilliwack’s U-11 United girls soccer team remained unbeaten with a 3-1 win over the Abbotsford Storm on Saturday.

The local girls led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by Grace Vandenbrink, set up by forwards Grace Bisson, Carmen Bonnar and Deanna Tuchscherer.

Chilliwack came at Abby in waves as the second half started, with Madison Steele, Danielle Klassen, Amber Feaver and Katie Lampen buzzing around the Storm goal.

Vandenbrink scored twice more to put the game out of reach.

Defenders Paige Owens, Miranda Coombes and Kalista Kirkness kept things tidy around keeper Katrina Brown, though a late goal on a breakaway broke up her shutout bid.
