UC Flames on fire

Unity Christian’s senior boys basketball team tackled three league games last week, winning them all by wide margins.

The Flames downed Credo Christian (64-36), Maple Ridge Christian (80-33) and St. John Brebouf (56-34), improving their league-play record to 5-2. The win over St. John Brebouf was particularly impressive, as UC knocked off a team that was previously unbeaten.

With Fraser Valley playoffs lurking at the end of the month, the Flames sit second in the A league, and seventh provincially.

Guard Nathan Vugteveen was outstanding in the three games, averaging 17.4 points and 21 rebounds.

UC and G.W. Graham’s senior boys are the lone local teams appearing in provincial rankings.
