The Valley Huskers defence has been one of the best in the BC Football Conference this season, and on Friday (Oct. 29), two members of the unit were recognized as league all-stars.

James Moar was selected at linebacker. In his fourth year as a Husker, Moar leads the six-team circuit in quarterback sacks with nine and is sixth in total tackles with 27.

Teammate Spencer Chavis got a well-earned nod at defensive back. His six passes defensed lead the BCFC and the third-year Husker has three interceptions.

Ethan Homan also got an all-star selection as the league’s top punter. The third-year kicker has been busy behind a Chilliwack offence that generates a lot of two-and-outs, booming 43 punts on the year. Homan has averaged 40 yards per boot, accumulating 1,720 total yards.

The Huskers (4-3) are on the road Saturday (Oct. 30), finishing up their eight-game regular season slate in Nanaimo, facing the Vancouver Island Raiders (3-4).

Both teams have locked down playoff spots behind the first place Langley Rams (7-0) and second place Okanagan Sun (6-1).
