Chilliwack’s Zachary Clay turned in a gold-medal performance at the 2019 Artistic Canadian Gymnastics Championships, which were held May 21-26 in Ontario.

The Canadian national teamer competed in the senior division where he finished first on the pommel horse with a score of 14.400.

Clay’s next best event was the parallel bars, where his score of 13.350 tied him for seventh overall.

He tied for 10th on the rings, placed 11th on vault, tied for 15th on the high bar and finished 17th on the floor.

Cumulatively, Clay was fourth all-around, which sets him up nicely for a possible trip to the Pan Am Games in Lima, Peru this July.

Gymnastics Canada will announced the Pan Am Games team in the coming weeks.
